Where does your donation go?
We are a not-for-profit organization staffed entirely by unpaid
volunteers. But even a grass-roots organization like ours needs
money in order to function effectively. Dozens of little expenses
add up, such as the cost of developing and running this website.
Frankly, our volunteers have been eating a lot of these smaller
expenses - but we can't continue to do that forever.
Next, there are the things we'd like to do, if we had the
resources. The folks on the other side of the shipping issue
have an army of lobbyists working the halls of the State Capitol
every day. They regularly host legislative receptions and parties.
And, of course, there are the infamous hundreds of thousands of
dollars in "campaign contributions".
We'll never come close to matching these resources. But it WOULD
be nice to be able to send some mailings, or host an Indianapolis
reception (with Indiana wines, of course!) for legislators and
their aides. These things would advance our cause, and help to
put faces on the thousands of people behind our efforts.
